Jacqui Brady

After completing a Bachelor of Arts in Canberra Jacqui Brady spent several years studying and practicing yoga in Europe, India and Australia. In 2003 she completed the primary series with the guidance of Sharath Rangaswami in his small Mysore shala.

Trained personally by Dena Kingsberg (Certified by Sri K Pattabhi Jois), over several years in Byron Bay Jacqui cultivated solid foundations in yoga asana, pranayama, meditation, chanting, philosophy, bodywork and asana adjustments for primary and intermediate series. She includes Graeme Northfield and Dena among her mentors.

Jacqui’s approach to yoga practice, yoga therapy and teaching has been enriched by 3 year study in the Hakomi Method, which is a gentle, mindfulness based, experiential form of somatic psychotherapy. She graduated in the Hakomi method in December 2013.
“I believe that yoga can be a potent therapeutic practice when it is offered to people in a way which respects each individual’s constitution - mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Teaching within principles of mindfulness, compassion, non-harm and respect for nature’s intelligence I integrate tools gathered from over fourteen years practice and study of yoga.” Classes are inspiring, challenging and fun.
